As in any small community, Wheeler’s citizens volunteer to make our city a better place to live.
If you are interested in volunteering , please fill out the volunteer application and email it manager@ci.wheeler.or.us, or bring it into city hall, located at 775 Nehalem Blvd. You can use the mail slot in the north door.
Below are some areas in which you can participate:
- Map Your Neighborhood Captains: This is a program in which the Wheeler has been divided into blocks of homes. Each block has a captain that organizes his or her neighbors to prepare for emergencies and disseminate important information. Either volunteer to be a captain or to assist one in your neighborhood. Get to know your neighbors and who might need extra help in an emergency.
- City Park Committee: Who keeps Wheeler's parks and flower boxes looking so AMAZING? The Parks & Recreation Committee. Volunteers are needed for any sort of work. Like to weed or trim? Volunteers meet once a week, weather permitting, at Waterfront Park.
- City Government: Get involved with guiding our city to its greatest potential! We always need help with research, grant administration and communications. Write to manager@ci.wheeler.or.us.
